How Brexit has framed the Tory leadership contest

Brexit happened over a long period of time possibly dating back to the Lisbon treaty signed by the EU in 2007.

It changed the way the EU worked and lead in a way to Brexit.

Brexit still got some way to go to be a global trading country free of the middle management level of EU.

To return to the EU is not the same they are different already.

They’re dealing with an energy crisis from dependency on Russian gas and oil.

The UK trying to realign to changing the EU rules that previously restricted and limited the demands of the British.

Although the EU is a large wealthy trading bloc of 450 million people, there are 7 billion people in the world to do business with.

With freedom from the EU the UK is able to develop trade relations with Australia New Zealand India Canada USA Mexico Brazil and emerging African countries.

My view from 2019 on the benefit Brexit was having for expats.

Only by engaging these countries can we share prosperity with them and help cure the refugee crisis of today. Half the worlds population is under 25 and most of the asylum seeking problem I suggest is connected to economic migrants rather than true political or conflict refugees.

The young people of the world are the future and the potential is to level up and share prosperity going forward.

To stay within the confines of the closed shop of the EU is to look back to the past not the future.

Conservatives embarked on a levelling up agenda to create a equality and opportunity within the UK.

This mentality needs to be extended around the world to reap mutual economic wealth and stability for the UK countries that trade with around the world.

In the Conservative candidates we see the great product of engaging with people around us.

Whether we share a future with Irish Welsh Scots Europeans Africans Asians Russians Chinese Americans is the issue.

No countries are an island we are all part of the same globe. Our world.

Boris Johnson may turn out to be a transitional figure in history,

Now the opportunity exists for forward-looking Prime Minister of Britain to lead the UK back to the future around the world and not regress to the misguided concept of a past that exists no more.
