What next?
The photocopy comes back to the boss's desk and he has to compile the report.
The child may or may not eat the food put in front of her.
The artillery gun is fired. The soldiers wait for the next instruction.

Or do they?
The firearm squad of 4 soldiers could have been trained and taught a reload drill. In which case if the captain orders
"Reload" then "fire" they will follow the 2 trained processes to reload and fire the gun.
If the captain orders "continuous fire" the squad can repeat this productive behaviour over and over.
If the child is educated by the parent of the importance and value of family time sitting at the dinner table, and of good nutrition and healthy eating, then she will sit at the dinner table and enjoy the food and social time with her family.
If the employee is taught how to compile,copy and prepare the client report, from the bosses draft then the photocopying, and preparing and saving the report is delegated and completed on the team member's desk.

When you train someone to perform a task for you, and allow them to complete the job in their way, in their time, they own the task. They accept the responsibility to complete the set of behaviours to complete the report, enjoy the family meal, complete the military gun salute.

The training teaches them how and what to do. They trust themselves to do the job if you allow them to carry out the work independently.
The team player, child or soldier feels ownership and takes responsibility for what is to be done.
