Listen to Your Body

PHYSICAL

When getting physical we are often told to listen to our bodies.

Knowing if we push to hard we risk injury or physical exhaustion.

If we take on too much our bodies can go into exhaustion that generally takes 3 days to recover from.

Between games. Between workouts. Between double shifts.

We could do this routinely or we could pace ourselves.

EATS

It’s not just the working out where we should listen to our body.

A craving for a type of food is an indication of a nutritional need. Your body is calling subconsciously for you to consume a particular substance that will meet a need.

Potassium is an essential mineral needed each day. If you crave spinach, broccoli, potatoes, oranges, bananas, cucumber, peas or mushrooms this could be why.

The essential amino acids we need each day can be obtained by eating eggs, diary, tofu, quinoa or meat. What do you fancy?

The essential fatty acids your body needs each day could be obtained from fish, nuts, seeds or flax oil.

As an aside we should note their are no essential carbohydrates needed by humans each day. Especially sugar. The normal human body stores up to 80,000 calories of accessible sugars as carbohydrate. On a 2-3000 daily need for normal daily life carbohydrate need is more that met by eating essential foods.

Like physical work if our nutrition is over done by missing keep elements then the body goes down and could take 3 days to rebalance.

SUSTAIN

If we want to be relentless in our pursuit of dreams, or just live life to the full, then we need to build stamina to keep going and complete our schedules days and obligations.

To achieve a sustainable mind and body we must balance.

Listen to our physical and nutrition needs. Exercise, eat nutrition, rest and sleep each day. Not to excess or not with deficit.

Listen to our bodies enables us to stay in balance. Without excesses of diet or exercise or sleep deprivation we could keep running on and on.
